The call FP7-HEALTH-2007-B was published on the 18th of June and it will be open until the 18th of September. The call includes the following topics:

2. Translating research for human health
3. Optimising delivery of health care to European citizens
4. Other actions across the health theme

Read at the www.europe.eu:The Competitiveness Council has agreed on the 25th of June one a general approach for the European Institute of Technology (EIT), proposed by the European Council earlier this year. EIT should be able to begin operations in 2008.

Read at www.europa.eu: The European Commission has adopted on the 14th of June a European Action Plan for “Ageing Well in the Information Society“. This Plan is accompanied by a new joint European research programme raising to over €1bn the research investment on ICT targeted at improving the life of older people.

Leido en el Madrid+D: según un estudio publicado en The Lancet (”Temporary scaffolding of coronary arteires with bioabsordable magnesium stents: a prospective, non-randomised multicentre trial”), en el Departamento de Cardiología del West German Heart Centre Essen (Alemania) se implantaron 71 stents biodegradables en 63 pacientes para comprobar que estos dispositivos son iguales de eficaces y seguros que los anteriores.
