More than 250 young researchers have been part of the VI I3A Day and the Youth Day that, this year, has reached its 14th edition. This day has become a meeting point to talk about research, scientific work as a long-distance race and learning and opportunities for the future.
Throughout the day, 90 young researchers presented their lines of work, the doctoral theses with which they are taking their first steps in their scientific careers. Four of them were awarded in each of the areas of the I3A:
Biomedical Engineering
Loreto Ferrández Laliena, “Differences in Kinematic and Muscle Activity Associated with ACL Injury Risk in Second Division Female Football Players”. Unidad de Investigación en Fisioterapia (UIF)
TIC
Miguel López-Otal, “¿Una IA en fabla aragonesa?: Inyección de conocimiento lingüístico en modelos basados en Transformer para transferencia croslingüe”. Grupo de investigación Sistemas de Información Distribuidos (SID)
Industrial Technologies
Adrián Subías Martín, “Diseño e Implementación de un Albedómetro Espectral. Variación del Albedo del Manto Nivoso con Diferentes Contaminantes”. Grupo de Tecnologías Fotónicas (GTF)
Processes & Recycling
Miguel García-Monge, “Characterisation of Thermal Inertia in University Buildings Using Continuous Temperature Monitoring Data”. Grupo de Ingeniería Térmica y Sistemas Energéticos.
The day began with references to scientific challenges, young talent, engineering opportunities and the importance of attracting and retaining this talent in Aragon. These are some of the ideas that the director of ARAID, Francisco Javier Rubio, together with the director of the I3A, Jesús Arauzo, and the deputy director of the EINA, Iván Lidón, expressed at the inauguration.
“The impact of technological transformation on the quality of vehicles” was the central theme of the inaugural conference, given by Enrique Ocón Garcés, quality director of Stellantis. In his talk he analyzed the advances in precision, efficiency and traceability. He also talked about how customer expectations have changed, as they are increasingly demanding in terms of reliability, customization and user experience. He showed how these innovations are redefining day-to-day operations in production plants. He ended his speech with a look into the future and the challenges that this technological evolution will bring.
I3A distinction
This year the I3A wanted to recognize the commitment to science and research by awarding its annual recognition to the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer of Aragon (Aspanoa), as well as for its collaboration with different research groups of this Institute.
