TYPES OF POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

There are 2 types of Postdoctoral Fellowships:

European Fellowships (EF)

For researchers moving within Europe or coming to Europe from anywhere in the world.

Global Fellowships (GF)

For researchers looking to gain experience outside Europe, with a strong reintegration plan.

  • Two phases:
  1. Outgoing phase to a non-European country (12–24 months)
  2. Mandatory return phase in Europe (12 months)
  • Open to researchers from or going to any country, as long as they return to Europe
  • Total duration: 24 to 36 months

Additional Opportunities

  • Short-term secondments: Fellows can spend time at other institutions (academic or non-academic) anywhere in the world during their fellowship (except during the GF return phase).
  • Optional non-academic placement: Up to 6 months at the end of the fellowship in a non-academic organisation based in an EU Member State or Associated Country — perfect for building bridges between research and industry.

What’s funded?

  • Living, travel, and family allowances for the researcher
  • Research costs
  • Institutional overheads for the host organisation

WHO CAN APPLY?

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to researchers of any nationality and any research field.
