Post-doc position at University of Santiago (hemodynamics and data assimilation)

Title project:

Physics Informed Flow Reconstruction using Stabilized Reduced Models Applied to Arterial Hemodynamics

A PostDoc position (24 months) is open in the Computational Heat and Fluid Flow Lab
(https://www.researchgate.net/lab/Computational-Heat-and-Fluid-Flow-Lab-Ernesto-Castillo) at the Mechanical Engineering Department of University of Santiago de Chile

We are searching for a PostDoc in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields with good skills in Python and C++ to further develop our software.

The project will encompass the development of inverse and forward reduced-order models for hemodynamic flows. We will use stabilized finite element formulations (possibly high-order VMS ones) to represent the fluid dynamic problem accurately and develop high-fidelity learning algorithms. PINNs and related machine-learning strategies to estimate
fluid-flow parameters and biomarkers will be coupled to efficiently simulate and model full-order three-dimensional dynamical states.

The working team will be composed by professor Ernesto Castillo from the University of Santiago de Chile and professor Felipe Galarce from the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso.

The base gross monthly salary is 1.800.000 CLP (US$ 2035.44). Additionally, this salary may be complemented with the FONDECYT Project 1210156 (10 to 15% extra). Additionally, the postdoc will be able to work teaching a course (in Spanish) at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Santiago de Chile (subject to availability), which will be paid
separately.

The project begins in March/April 2024 and does not include flight tickets
