Biosketch:
After an early research career on theoretical biology and origins of life (developed during PhD and a first Postdoc at University of Cambridge), my trajectory has been focused on clonal dynamics in normal and precancerous tissues: I was quantitative biologist at the Sanger Institute (UK) and returned to Spain as a Talento fellow to CNIO. In 2022 I was appointed as Associate Professor at UCM, where I lead the Biophysics & Systems Biology group. Granted by AEI, we combine lineage tracing in mice with bioinformatics and modeling tools to study cell competition constraints to carcinogenesis.
