University Group for Analytical Research

The main line of research of the GUIA group is the study of the food safety of materials in contact with food, with an emphasis on packaging, and the development of new materials to protect food against deterioration by oxidation or microbial growth.

The research, development and technology put into play in the group and transferred to companies has contributed to the growth and improvement of several SMEs and to the opening of market niches for large companies, not only nationally but also internationally.
